Shorps is a collection of short shapes cut from copper, a naturally occurring, recyclable, life-sustaining, and antimicrobial metal. Shorps are ergonomic forms for fiddling in your restless hands in times of uncertainty, designed to fit into one another to assemble a variety of sculptures, requiring 2-3 Shorps for balanced equilibrium. Assembled shorps evoke human tenderness and intimacy in a range of warm brown hues, with an added dimension in reflection. Shorps are a reminder that we need each other in 2020, and beyond, finding kinship in collaboration with one another and our environment.
